Beam Me Up, Scotty

One day, a very typical summer early evening, my husband took our dog for a walk as he did almost every evening. We had a narrow road in the back of our house that was hardly ever used by cars. It had once been part of the main road, but many years before we moved there, the main road had been straightened, The little curved part of the road created a little piece of land now between itself and the main road.

It was perfect to walk the dog. I was cleaning up after dinner when my husband came running back with the dog screaming for us to come outside. I couldn’t imagine what the commotion was about. He pointed up and flying above us, at a low altitude was a spaceship! A real honest to goodness spaceship. It was still light outside and there was no other explanation. It was hovering over our house. Like idiots we just stood there and stared at it. I mean, after all this was Nassau County Long Island, only 20 minutes out of New York City! Suddenly the ship started to move and we got in the car to chase it! Really? My husband had to watch the road and I was navigating where this thing moved. It was the most unreal thing ever. I couldn’t understand why everyone wasn’t looking up at it! Well, before long, the thing just took off. It had gone in a perpendicular direction and was out of sight within seconds.

We came home and started to listen to TV and Radio and anything we could think of. I think we did make a call about it, but I don’t remember where. It was eerie that it didn’t make the news. We couldn’t have had some kind of spell cast upon only the four of us! There was definitely something there.

A few days later, in the back pages of the newspaper there was some talk about weather balloons or some flying survey machines, or some crap. That was it. Never to be mentioned again. I have searched every now and then for an explanation. I have never found any. It was not a helicopter, it was not a plane, and I doubt it was military. To hover and then go at an angle at a speed so fast, well I doubt we have that capability even now.

I believe there are many things we don’t know. I believe that governments conceal things in the name of protecting the citizens. I believe that we aren’t alone in this universe. In the quest for self importance, humankind tries to maintain a position of superiority. They can’t or won’t explain things that happen, yet they create scenarios, which they know are false or misleading to keep the public quiet. Enter the realm of conspiracy theories. Most of these are so fantastical that it amazes me you can get anyone to believe any of them.
