Strangest Things

Recently strange things have happened in my house. Most of the time just my husband and I are here. Twice a month, I may have a MahJongg game or a card game here with my friends, and my family comes for dinner about once a week. The rest of the time, it’s just the two of us and Evie, our dog.

In there rear of the house is a room, I call my card room. It was converted from an indoor porch. It’s cozy and comfortable. I often sit there, to read, to think or to escape the TV blaring in the next room. I love watching the multitude of birds we have here as well and it is a perfect observation point. It’s ideal for a group of 4 or 5. The dog has a doggie door to the backyard, and she goes in and out all day long. In the evening, or when we leave the house, the doggie door is closed and a sliding glass door leading into the rest of the house is securly locked. If the dog has to go out at night, I turn on the rear lights, unlock the sliding door and off she goes. She always returns in a couple of minutes. I then relock everything, shut the outdoor light and go back to bed.

In the center of the room is a ceiling two level light and fan combination. Two things are necessary to put on that light or fan. One, the switch on the wall, ( which is inside the house) has to be turned on, and the remote control must be pressed. In the last few nights, we have gone through our regular procedure and gone to bed. Twice, in the morning, the fan has been on. The door is locked and we had no explanation. Last night, my husband came to wake me because the light, both levels was illuminated. The door was still locked. The switch was on, I usually just leave it that way, but there is no way the buttons on the remote could have accidentally been pressed. It scared the s**t out of me! We turned out the light, locked the doors and sat in the living room starting at the sliding glass door.

Two days before this, the TV suddenly went on while we were in the kitchen.

I keep telling myself that there is a plausible explanation, but I can’t think of any. In addition, I received a text? Message? From someone I knew years ago saying that he was reading this blog? I was surprised, because I have no idea how he came upon it! I showed my husband the message. I was called away from my phone and intended to respond to the person, but when I got back, the text no longer existed. I’m glad I showed it to him, otherwise he would think I was crazy! Oh well, after last night, either I am crazy and he’s going along with it, or we’re both crazy and someone is playing a joke. If that is the case, STOP.
